However, the CX-70 is slightly taller at 1736 mm compared to 1733 mm for the CX-90. Ground clearance is the same for both vehicles at 204 mm.

Seating Capacity and Configuration

The main difference between the CX-70 and the CX-90 lies in the seating configuration. The CX-90 can accommodate between six and eight passengers depending on the version, while the CX-70 is designed for five passengers. Powertrains and Performance

However, the base GS and GS-L versions of the CX-90 require an upgrade to achieve this towing capacity. The plug-in hybrid versions of both models have a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

Cargo Volume

The CX-70 and CX-90 offer generous cargo volumes, although slightly different. The CX-70 offers a maximum cargo volume of 2,132 liters, compared to 2,101 liters for the CX-90. Behind the second row of seats, the CX-70 offers 1,131 liters of volume, slightly less than the 1,133 liters of the CX-90. The CX-90, with its third row of seats, offers a volume of 423 liters behind it.

Fuel Economy

In terms of fuel economy, both models are also very similar. The GS and GS-L versions have a fuel consumption of 9.9 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway. The GT, GT-P, and Signature versions consume slightly more with 10.3 L/100 km in the city and 8.5 L/100 km on the highway. The plug-in hybrid models offer an equivalent consumption of 4.2 Le/100 km and an electric range of 42 km.
